The next American cycling hero or heroine may make their debut at
one of the Carlisle Family YMCA's upcoming bicycle racing events!

Organized by Yellow Breeches Racing, the CFYMCA is planning a
race-a-month in August, September, October and November.  A brief
summary of each race is shown below; for more info, please contact Mark

All events benefit the Carlisle Family YMCA.

Sunday, August 20, 9am - Doubling Gap Time Trial (Newville) - 2006 PA
State Time Trial Championship - road bikes - 20 mile, scenic, rolling
course - open to riders of all abilities.  Register and get more info
at www.bikereg.com.  Sponsored by World Cup Ski and Cycle of
Mechanicsburg.

Saturday, September 23, 9am - Carlisle Grand Prix (Carlisle) - 2006 PA
State Women's Road Race Championship - road bikes - multiple loops of
a 4.2 mile, rural, rolling course - open to women from PA and from out
of state.  Register and get more info at www.bikereg.com.  Sponsored
by Galbraith Pre-Design and Sara Laser.

Saturday and Sunday, October 14 & 15, Volkswagen Iron Cross IV Race
Weekend (Michaux State Forest) - Iron Cross Lite Cyclocross Race (Part
of the MABRA series) and Iron Cross IV (America's Longest Cyclocross
Race) - cyclocross or mountain bikes - Iron Cross Lite will be held on
a traditional, challenging short 'cross course; Iron Cross IV will be
held on a massive 60+ mile loop with over 6,000 feet of climbing -
open to riders of all abilities.  Register and get more info at
www.bikereg.com.  Sponsored by the Volkswagen Dealers of South Central
Pennsylvania.

15km and 30km trail running races will also be held in conjunction
with Iron Cross IV.

(Tentative) Saturday and Sunday November 25 & 26, Auto 'Cross
(Carlisle) - 2006 PA State Cyclocross Championship and Unofficial
Cyclocross Relay Championship - cyclocross or mountain bikes -
traditional, challenging short 'cross course - open to riders of all
abilities.  Register and get more info at www.bikereg.com.
